“Healing is the process of loving those parts that are hurting” – from A Cup of Tea with Sadness by Ron Chelsvig

Lauren Williams, LSW, MSS, CTP, CRS, CFRS (she/her/they/them)  Past traumas and difficult life experiences can make us feel emotionally blocked, disconnected, overwhelmed, or shut down. As a trauma therapist who guides both adults and young adults in navigating life’s challenges, I will support your unique path to healing. Through approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), experiential therapies, mindfulness and EMDR, I can help you experience restored feelings of emotional balance and inner peace.

“Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, we can work together to find a path back home to yourself. I will provide a supportive and respectful space where you will be seen and heard.”

I welcome all that you bring into our time together. Using an open-minded, strengths-based approach, compassion, and curiosity, I will work to understand how experiences have impacted you. We will get to know the parts of you that are in distress and that may be carrying anxiety, depression, shame, fear, relationship difficulties, addictive processes, grief, loss, or other experiences. Together, we will discover the inherent healing abilities that are already within you. I believe that healing and recovering happens through connection and relationships, both with ourselves and with others.

I have earned a Master of Social Service from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. In addition to IFS training, I have completed EMDR training, am a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), and have training in experiential trauma therapy. I have also worked as a PA Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) and Family Recovery Specialist (CFRS). My experience includes working with individuals in inpatient, outpatient and community settings related to substance use, mental health, and trauma recovery.

There are many pathways and possibilities for healing. Let’s work together to restore balance and hope.

Lauren‘s typical fee is $140 for individual therapy (53 min); she can work on a flexible sliding scale if needed. Although she only works on a self-pay basis, she is able to provide documentation for clients to submit for out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider.
