Jack Mullikin (He/Him/His) is a Master of Social Work student at West Chester University. At the heart of his approach is his commitment to empathy and compassion. Jack strives to provide his clients with a space where they feel seen, heard, and valued as they navigate challenging life circumstances. Jack values building authentic connections through fostering a non-judgmental space where clients are encouraged to be their true selves. Within therapy, Jack utilizes a variety of approaches, such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), expressive arts techniques, and experiential modalities. Jack will be training in EMDR to utilize with clients as they work through processing trauma.
After 10 years working in horticulture, he switched to working in substance abuse treatment after finding his path to recovery. He then spent 2 years as an admission specialist at a Drug and Alcohol treatment center where he utilized an empathic approach to help individuals feel supported in their journey toward recovery. Jack continued this work at an outpatient facility where he provided individual therapy for those struggling with trauma and substance abuse as well as facilitating group therapy. With this experience, Jack takes a mind-body-spirit approach towards healing.
Having worked through my own trauma, I value and respect the courage and strength that it takes to not only pick up the phone to make the first call but to go out on a limb and be willing to put your trust in a therapist. I believe that by trudging through this journey one can not only see the light at the end of the tunnel but experience the joy and peace of mind that comes along with it.
Jack’s typical fee is $85 for individual therapy (53 min); He can work on a flexible sliding scale if needed.
