The weekend will provide all participants with multiple practicum experiences of facilitating 1-1 psychodrama using the empty chair and concretization. Didactic content will be presented on the history\, theory\, and practice of 1-1 psychodrama including its strengths and limitations. Trauma-informed principles will be integrated throughout the weekend with a focus on strengths\, safety\, and post-traumatic growth. Trauma survivors have much higher rates of suicide attempts than others. Suicide is often an attempt to escape the pain and suffering associated with past adversity and current traumatic stress or grief. The process of engaging clients in trauma therapy while continuously assessing for suicidality is delicate but essential. As we assist clients in addressing the wounds of past adversity\, we must be thoughtful in helping to keep them within their window of tolerance.
