SUMMARY:Introduction to the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Model
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Haydn Briggs MSS\, LCSW\, CET II\, CGP \nDate & Time: Saturday\, September 30\, 2023 @ 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM with 1 hour for lunch \nCost: $199 for professionals | $140 for students (*write to us if cost is your only barrier) \n6 CE Hours for PA social workers\, counselors\, MFTs\, psychologists\, and NBCC Hours \nIn-Person at the Phoenix Center – 524 N. Providence Road Media\, PA 19063 \n  \nAbout the Workshop:\nInternal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is a systems-focused\, non-pathologizing approach to psychotherapy. IFS encourages us to approach our internal worlds and the inner worlds of others with qualities such as curiosity\, compassion\, connectedness\, clarity\, courage\, calmness\, confidence\, and creativity. \nIFS asserts that we are all made up of parts\, subpersonalities that assume specific roles based on our experiences. IFS allows us to release our parts from internal constraints and cultivate internal harmony. \nThis workshop will help participants conceptualize and work with cases from an Internal Family Systems perspective\, using the 6 Fs to allow clients to connect with their 8 Cs of Self. There will be both didactic and experiential portions of this workshop to help attendees inform their work with IFS principles. No previous IFS knowledge is required. \n\n\nLearning Objectives:\na) Describe one of the 6 Fs\nb) Explain the different between a part and Self\nc) Explain one way a therapist’s parts show up in therapy\nd) Integrate basic IFS principles into client case conceptualization \n\nBy purchasing tickets and registering for this event\, you confirm that you agree with the Phoenix Center’s Informed Consent for Experiential Therapy Training. \n_____________________________________________________________________________________________ \nPlease follow the following steps to pay and register for this workshop:\nStep 1: Pay for event using Paypal. \nStep 2: Fill out registration form – YOU MUST USE THE SAME EMAIL YOU USE FOR PAYPAL WHEN YOU FILL OUT THE EVENT REGISTRATION FORM.  \nStep 3: You will hear from us with a confirmation email (same you used for PayPal and registration) indicating your registration and information about the event in a few days. While personal growth is often a byproduct of experiential learning in psychodrama\, the primary purpose of this workshop is training. If you are seeking a workshop for personal growth or seeking a professional training event that is entirely didactic (lecture/powerpoint)\, this is probably not the best workshop for you. \nNo conflicts of interest or outside commercial support have been declared by the presenter or others involved in the program. \nThis workshop is designed primarily for psychologists\, social workers\, counselors\, therapists\, and graduate students\, but other professionals may also find it helpful.
