This workshop will present an overview of experiential trauma therapy with a focus on action-based clinical interventions that move the process beyond words and talking. The importance of safety and a strengths-based approach will be highlighted as it relates to both group work and individual therapy. Group-based sociometric and psychodramatic techniques will be demonstrated for teaching purposes and to engage participants with each other. Both neurobiology research and clinical research will be presented as it relates to the proven effectiveness of experiential methods.
Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy (Lic. #004115) is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors to offer continuing education for social workers, marriage and family therapists and professional counselors. Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy (Lic. # PSY000215) is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology to offer continuing education for psychologists. Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy maintains responsibility for the program. Participants at these workshops can receive credit towards certifications through the American Board of Examiners in Sociometry, Psychodrama, and Group Psychotherapy as well as the International Society of Experiential Professionals (CP, CET, and CES). |
