About this workshop:
LGBTQIA+ affirming care can create a sanctuary designed to foster post-traumatic growth, understanding, and empowerment for queer individuals. This webinar aims to shed light on the distinct challenges and experiences that contribute to trauma within this diverse community, including factors that put LGBTQIA+ individuals at risk for mental health problems. We invite you to join us to deepen your awareness and expand your knowledge to contribute to creating safer, more affirming spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals and groups.
Learning Objectives:
- Define Trauma
- Identify 3 factors that put LGBTQIA+ individuals at risk for mental health problems
- Describe at least one example of trauma unique to the queer experience
