About this workshop:

Whether you are a caregiver, or you work with folks who are, we invite you to join us as we explore all aspects related to caretaking alongside our roles as therapists and mental health professionals. In fact, our jobs in and of themselves include a component of caretaking as we support our clients in various ways. Taking on the role of caregiver to a loved one unleashes a multitude of emotions, challenges, and concerns. Many caregivers are faced with juggling dual roles, parenting responsibilities, balancing a social life, nurturing relationships with a partner, finding time for self-care, and maintaining a professional caseload of clients – all at the same time.

This webinar will provide an overview of practical steps aimed at reducing caregiver burnout, learning how to approach essential conversations, and navigating difficult decisions. In addition, ways to find support and manage the mental and physical toll associated with caregiving will be outlined.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Identify and name common challenges, emotions, and behaviors for folks in caregiver roles.
  2. Recognize the risk factors and signs associated with burnout, fatigue, relational stress, and financial concerns for caregivers.
  3. List ways to tap into your own supportive network and community.
