Chelsey Everest Eiel (she/her/hers) is a Master of Social Service candidate at Bryn Mawr College in the Graduate School for Social Work and Social Research. She earned her first Master’s degree in the Fine Arts for creative nonfiction writing, and her dissertation explored sexual violence and substance use in women’s trauma narratives. The majority of Chelsey‘s clinical work has been through individual counseling sessions with college students who have experienced intimate harm, and providing them with a safe space in which to process their experiences, name what they need in terms of resolution and repair, and access resources and support.

“In working with you, I will offer a nonjudgmental, compassionate space in which you can unravel, explore, and reclaim your stories. I aim to reflect back your inner strength and resilience, and in doing so help to restore a sense of agency and empowerment in your healing. My approach to therapy is relational and collaborative; through authentic connection, I will work alongside you to identify and move toward your goals.”

Chelsey draws upon various modalities in her individual sessions with clients, adapting to each client’s individual needs and goals; this has included concepts and interventions from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and mindfulness techniques.

As a writer, Chelsey has developed an intentional, trauma-informed writing practice that she has taught and facilitated in group formats for the last ten years. This practice, which seeks to disrupt shame narratives and build upon the power of being witnessed in a safe space, has allowed her to make sense of her own lived experience with intimate partner violence, as well as develop strategies for processing flashbacks, identify negative thought patterns, and sit with and move through discomfort.

“There is no pain in my life that has not been given value by the alchemy of creative attention.” – Melissa Febos

Chelsey’s typical fee is $85 for individual therapy (53 min); She can work on a flexible sliding scale if needed.
