Meet Alexandra Rodriguez (she/her), a student clinician at the Phoenix Trauma Center. Alexandra identifies as a Latina, cisgender woman. Drawing from her lived experiences and formal training, she has a deep understanding of the complex and cyclical nature of intergenerational trauma, as well as the intricate dynamics, or “dance,” that often emerge from formative familial and cultural experiences.

In a safe and affirming therapeutic environment, Alexandra will work with you to explore your earliest memories of family relationships and community experiences. Together, you will uncover and connect the significance of these early events to your personal story. Alexandra will guide you toward greater self-awareness, helping you understand how these formative experiences have influenced your attitudes, personality, and current experiences—whether at school, work, or in your relationships with family and others.

Alexandra’s clinical style is integrative, pulling from multiple, evidence-based, trauma informed approaches to best accommodate the needs of the unique person in front of her. Working with Alexandra, you can expect a person-centered and goal-oriented approach to treatment, using both depth and insight-oriented questions during sessions for ongoing exploration of whatever personal blind spots you are ready to face as you embark upon your path to wellness. Anything that comes up can be useful during your therapeutic process.

Alexandra’s professional background includes experience supporting multi-cultural, minority, and marginalized (or otherwise under-served) communities, including immigrants, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. She is currently working towards her master’s degree in Community and Trauma Counseling at Thomas Jefferson University, and ultimately intends to pursue licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Alexandra’s typical fee is $95 for individual therapy (53 min); She can work on a flexible sliding scale if needed.
